Plan to take courses in Spring and/or Summer 2009? Here's how!

Spring Summer

For Visiting and Prospective Students:

In order to register for Spring and/or Summer classes you must first apply to the U of C.

For detailed instructions:

For Continuing Students:

After signing into MyUofC, click on PeopleSoft Student Centre under Quick Links. Your Student Centre will open.

To identify the classes you’d like to register in, you need to search for classes: Think of this process as searching through the Master Timetable and using the information contained there to begin planning your timetable.

Click on Class Search or Search for Classes and use the drop down menu to choose the term you wish to search in, for example Spring 2009. Click on GO.

Use the drop down menus to choose the course subject and the course career (undergraduate, graduate, medicine). Click on SEARCH. If you want a list of ALL classes being offered in a specific term, leave the course subject line blank.

The list of classes scheduled for the particular term chosen (e.g., Spring 2009) and for the course subject chosen (e.g., Psychology) will appear. Click on view all sections to see all classes being offered.

The Status of the class will display:

Open: the course is NOT full

Closed: the course is full

Wait List: the class offers a wait list

Click on the section link to view details of the class (i.e., scheduling information, enrollment information, class availability, course description, etc.) and make sure you meet the requirements of the class. Make note of the class number (found within the class details section) as this number will assist you during the registration process.

To Register for Classes: A three step process

This process is similar to the registration process via the InfoNet.

Within your Student Centre, click on Add a Class OR click on Search
for Classes and click on the add folder tab.

At the beginning of each registration period you will be asked to confirm your contact information. Please take a moment to review the information on file, update it as necessary, and confirm your academic load.

Step 1: Choosing a class

Within add page, select the term you wish to search for classes in (e.g., Spring 2009), click on change. Enter the class number and click on enter (if you do not have the class number, you will need to follow the instructions to Search for Classes (see above)).

Click on the section link to view details of the class (i.e., scheduling information, enrollment information, class availability, course description, etc.) and make sure you meet the requirements of the class. Classes with required lab or tutorial components will ask you to choose the lab or tutorial components only and will automatically register you in the associated lecture.

Step 2: Registering in a class

Once you have identified a class you wish to register in, click on select class. Quickly review the information displayed, double-checking that this is, indeed, the class you wish to register in, that the term is correct, and that you meet the requirements of the class.

If the class is full (e.g., icon appears) and has a wait list assigned, you may add yourself to the wait list at this time by ‘checking’ the Wait List box.

Click on proceed to step 2 of 3.

Step 3: Finalizing your registration in a class

Click on finish enrolling.

View the results of your registration, fix any errors, add another class, or view the classes you’ve registered in.

THE SHOPPING CART DOES NOT GUARANTEE YOUR REGISTRATION IN A CLASS

At peak times of registration, it is recommended that you register for classes individually (by completing the 3 step registration process for each class), rather than creating a list of classes within your Shopping Cart.
